What do you enjoy most about your training? And how long have you been training with us?
I started at the beginning of January 2017. I was looking for something to improve my fitness, physique and a healthier lifestyle. I think I've found it here at RFF. I wasn't sure if it was something I'd enjoy or be able to sustain, but having just completed the 'mansformation program' and not missed a session speaks volumes to me. The morning sessions work well for me even though I'm not a morning person (I'm usually the last one in!), I feel really good about myself knowing that by 6.45am I've done my workout, it doesn't affect my daily work and family routines and I no longer feel guilty seeing people running every where when I'm out in the car! I've just booked a years membership, that says it all.
How does it compare to other gyms/fitness programess you have tried?
If I'm honest not really done that much before. I recently joined a squash club to improve my fitness, but found it difficult to commit to playing regularly because most game requests are during the evenings and it doesn't work for me.
This fitness program is intense, but with a variety of exercises in a seemingly limitless combination of cardio and weights, giving a full body workout. The guys I train with are like minded, we know we're there for a reason and so all have a sense of purpose, but the atmosphere is fun and relaxed and I don't feel pressured into competing against anyone but myself.
How did you feel before you started?
Before I started the program I felt overweight, unfit and tired both mentally and physically, but not inspired to do anything about it.
Now I feel much better about myself, I've lost weight, improved my physical appearance and mentally I'm more positive. My outlook on life seems to have changed too, I now watch what I eat, I still like a drink, I try and save it to the weekends, I don't always manage it but I'm working on it (75% good' 25% bad!).
What changes have you seen as a result of training with us?
I now feel more focused and enjoy the challenge of maintaining and improving myself physically. I'm more awake during the day, particularly in the afternoons and generally feel better about myself because I know I'm doing something positive.
What would you say to someone who knows they need to do this but is sitting on the fence?
Having sat the fence for a long time myself, I'm so glad I got off the right side. Finding the right workout program is the most important decision, get it wrong and you won't stay with it. I'm usually really bad at self motivation but the combination of focused exercise in a friendly environment works for me.
